I have been active my whole life. All the way from soccer in kindergarten to ballet in high school with t-ball, basketball, golf, surfing, running, palates, yoga, and all types of dance between. I was 13 the first time I got to workout in a gym and I was hooked.
I've had my own roller-coaster fitness journey but the most impactful experience was when I hired a personal trainer in 2020. I had stopped working out and put on a generous amount of weight. In an attempt to lose the weight I developed a toxic relationship with food that left me underweight, weak and unhealthy. That personal trainer reminded me why I loved fitness and introduced me to the world of heavy lifting and reaching PRs.
With time I worked on my nutrition and slowly found my way back to health. I was able to develop a healthy relationship with fitness, food, and my body. My energy improved, I increased my muscle mass and I regained my flexibility and worked on my mobility so that I could move without pain. I rediscovered my love for movement in many forms and am so glad to be able to enjoy my life again.
Not only did having a personal trainer impact my health and personal well-being, but it impacted my career as well. I have always had a heart for people and felt a calling to do something meaningful. Because of my own journey with fitness, I knew I could help others in their journey too. In 2022 while caring for my newborn and working full-time, I earned my personal training certification and started training. By 2024 I had quit my corporate job and am now happily pursuing my passion for people and health as a personal trainer full-time.
It has been the most rewarding and fulfilling experience helping my clients along their own fitness journeys. My clients have seen results that has improved their daily lives such as;
-being able to reach the bottom shelf again,
-wear flip-flops again after re-gaining their balance,
-keep up on yardwork,
-keep up with grandkids,
-balance on one leg,
-improve their gait,
-gain confidence,
-feel better in their body,
-increase muscle mass and decrease fat,
-reach many personal strength PRs,
-show off their muscle,
-just enjoy life with less pain and improved movement
